Last Thursday night, TITANS Unit detectives apprehended 30-year-old Chesare Covington after he attempted to quickly flee during a confrontation on his Lafayette Street porch. According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Covington was alongside a large bag, which was found to contain illicit substances after he dropped it while running from the scene.
During the incident, detectives discovered 140 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of fentanyl, and several oxycodone pills inside the abandoned bag. The efforts made by law enforcement to safely bring to a stop the chase concluded with Covington facing multiple charges.
