SACRAMENTO, Calif. — 41-year-old Roosevelt Gulley III from Sacramento pleaded guilty on Monday to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Gulley was involved in a scheme during the COVID-19 pandemic to defraud the California Employment Development Department. He used stolen personal information to file fraudulent unemployment insurance applications, resulting in more than $575,000 in losses, with an intended loss of over $1.5 million.
