St. Pete parking garage could be home to rare dinosaur skeleton

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A parking garage in St. Petersburg’s Edge District could one day be home to an ancient dinosaur skeleton.

Ellison Development has proposed a “first-of-its-kind” experience for a one-acre rooftop garden situated atop a recently opened parking garage at The Central.

The garden would feature Devaiah, a 76-million-year-old Gorgosaurus, which will be showcased in protective glass.

The ancient skeleton was named after Ellison Development co-founder Sidd Pagidipati’s father, Dr. Devaiah Pagidipati. The company said it is one of only 20 specimens of its kind in the world and the only one privately owned.

“I’m thrilled to bring my passion for dinosaurs and real estate together at The Central,” Pagidipati said. “Instead of leaving the rooftop as empty space, we are unveiling a first-of-its-kind park centered around Devaiah, a 76-million-year-old Gorgosaurus displayed in glass. This will provide St. Petersburg with additional green space and an outdoor experience unlike anything else in the world.”…
