‘We’re never going to come back’ | Retired Air Force officer frustrated with lack of organization at Joint Base Andrews show

STAFFORD, Va. — Retired Air Force officer Vincent Donnelly has fond memories of going to air shows at Joint Base Andrews with his family. He recalls taking his kids when they were younger, sitting on the flight line and enjoying a picnic.

So this year, the first time in three years that JBA was open to the public, Donnelly decided to buy VIP tickets for himself and his wife Crystal, which cost him $385. The tickets included food, as well as special seating.

“I just thought this time, due to the fact we had a special area with seating and everything else …. was going to be an experience,” Donnelly said excitedly. “I’ve never experienced air shows like this.”…
