SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In what can be considered among her most impassioned remarks ever on a visit to Central New York, Governor Kathy Hochul chastised the federal government’s immigration raid of a Cayuga County food processing factory that resulted in the deportation of more than 50 workers.
“These are the worst of the worst,” the governor said, appearing to mock how the federal government has described its immigration policy. “These are the bad ones. The violent criminals. The ones we’re supposed to be afraid of. It’s a mom with a nursing baby. Hard-working people doing jobs.”
