CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Hundreds of people are expected to gather at Kingston Yard this Saturday for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event aimed at raising awareness and funds to fight the disease.
More than 500 participants are anticipated for the walk, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association. The day begins with check-in at 8 a.m., followed by the Promise Garden ceremony and walk at 9 a.m.
The Promise Garden is a powerful tradition where participants hold up colored flowers to represent their personal connection to the cause: yellow for caregivers, blue for those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, purple in memory of loved ones lost, and orange for supporters who share the vision of a world without the disease…
