ICE Cracks Down on Child Smugglers: El Paso Ring Accused of Drugging Kids with THC Candy for Compliance

An investigation led by ICE Homeland Security Investigations in El Paso has culminated in charges against four individuals in a child smuggling operation stretching from Mexico into the heart of the United States, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In a disturbing twist, the investigation revealed that some of these defenseless children were allegedly sedated with THC-laced candy to ensure compliance during the smuggling process.

Accused of making profit off the desperation of families seeking a better life, the two Mexican nationals and two U.S. citizens involved face severe legal repercussions for their roles in this scheme; among them are Susana Guadian and Daniel Guadian, both aged 50, Dianne Guadian, 32, a U.S. citizen, and Manuel Valenzuela, 35, a legal U.S. resident from El Paso, these individuals have been charged with conspiracy to transport aliens and bringing aliens to the U.S. for financial gain, which highlights the multi-faceted nature of the immigration crisis and the lengths to which some are willing to go for money.
