Little Rock, Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has named David Peacock to the Arkansas State Board of Education. “After faithfully serving in the United States Marine Corps for over a decade, David quickly became one of our state’s top business leaders – something that gives him the expertise we need to make sure every Arkansas student graduates ready to enroll, enlist, or become employed,” said Governor Sanders.

Peacock’s appointment fills the vacancy left by Dr. Sarah Moore, whose term has concluded. His term on the board will run through June 30, 2032. Governor Sanders thanked Dr. Moore for her commitment and contributions to the state’s educational reform initiative, Arkansas LEARNS, saying, “Because of her hard work and dedication, the future for Arkansas’ students is brighter than ever.”

A Leader Grounded in Service and Results

David Peacock brings with him decades of experience in both the military and corporate sectors. Originally from North Carolina, Peacock graduated as a Distinguished Naval Graduate from The Citadel in 1984, earning a bachelor’s degree in history before serving over ten years in the United States Marine Corps. He later earned a master’s degree in management from Webster University in 1990. After leaving the military, he transitioned into the private sector, building a career at respected companies like Rubbermaid, Textron, JLG Industries, and Kalmar Industries.

Since 2014, Peacock has been with Hytrol Conveyor Company, Inc., a major manufacturer of conveying systems used in industries ranging from processing and manufacturing to warehouse logistics. He became the company’s president in 2015 and has led the business through continued expansion, supported by a global network of over 100 integration partners. His hands-on experience with workforce development and industrial innovation uniquely positions him to support education initiatives that prepare students for careers in modern industries.

A Focus on Readiness, Literacy, and Opportunity
