Fox 8 poll shows Michelle Woodfork with commanding lead in Orleans sheriff race

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Michelle Woodfork, the former interim chief of the New Orleans Police Department, has a commanding lead in the race to become the next Orleans Parish sheriff, according to a new Fox 8 poll.

The poll was conducted by Mason Dixon Polling and Research from Sept. 8-10. It surveyed 625 registered voters citywide by telephone.

Pollsters asked, “If the October primary election for Orleans Parish sheriff were held today, which one of the following candidates would get your vote?”

Respondent broke 45 percent to Woodfork, 10 percent to incumbent Sheriff Susan Hutson, 9 percent to Ernesto “Ernie” Lee, 8 percent to Edwin Shorty, 2 percent to Bob Murray and 1 percent to retired Judge Julian Parker…
