WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A teen charged in the shooting death of Manuel Roach has pleaded not guilty.
Sergio Clement, Jr., 19, was charged with first-degree murder in February, one week after the fatal shooting. He entered a not guilty plea on Monday, waiving his arraignment. His jury trial is set to begin Nov. 3.
On Feb. 11, officers were called to the 1200 block of S. Bleckley Dr. just before 6 p.m. for reports of a shooting. There, they found 23-year-old Roach with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. That same evening, Clement arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound and was arrested the next day.

Two other men, Allen J. Griffin, 22, and Jerry Johnson III, 20, have also been charged with first-degree murder. Johnson’s arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 10. A date has not yet been set for Griffin’s arraignment…
