Teller County Sheriff’s Office warns of impersonation scam

(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — The Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is alerting the public that the Sheriff’s Office has received reports of a scammer claiming to be a member of TCSO and saying they have a warrant for a person’s arrest.

According to TCSO, the scammer is claiming to be a Lieutenant Jason Allen and claiming to have a warrant for the person’s arrest. TCSO said scammers will call pretending to be from a government agency and try to scare the victim into thinking they are in trouble, then request payment or the victim will be arrested.

TCSO said law enforcement will never call about a warrant, and if you think you are a victim of this type of scam, do not send money…
