Residents express frustration over proposed city-run homeless encampment

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The city of Tucson is trying to provide a safe place for the unhoused to sleep, but not everyone is excited about the initiative.

STAR Village will be located near Grant Road and Stone, and it’s set to be open for at least a year starting next month.

Neighbors and business owners gathered at Brother John’s Beer, Bourbon & BBQ on Stone for a news conference to express their concerns and frustrations. Many chanted “Stop STAR Village” and held up signs to voice their dismay…
