VIDEO: Black bear makes meal of Grafton bird feeder

GRAFTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A hungry black bear made a feast of a Grafton family’s bird feeder on Monday afternoon. A video captured by the Warika family’s 9-year-old son Matthew shows a young bear standing up and munching on birdseed.

Above are photos that the Warika family sent to NEWS10 of the bear standing on two legs and swinging around the bird feeder, attempting to have a snack. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation recommends homeowners secure bird feeders and garbage cans as bears become more active in late fall and early spring.
