CLEVELAND — Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity on Monday announced plans to build 15 affordable single-family homes in Cleveland’s Buckeye-Woodhill neighborhood.
The project is called Pope Leo Village, an homage Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope. It was spurred by a gift from an anonymous donor inspired by Leo’s vision and commitment to service, the organization said in a press release.
The homes are already in progress with support from ARPA funds and the City of Cleveland. Eleven homes are scheduled to be built on Elwell Avenue by the end of 2026, with the remaining four completed by 2027. Families will be offered affordable mortgages to purchase the homes…
