IMPD seeks clues in homicide of 34-year-old man

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 34-year-old man died after he was found shot early Friday in a housing addition on the east side of Indianapolis, the police department and the coroner’s office say.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the man as Gregory Joshua Newsome Jr. His cause of death was listed as homicide. Newsome died at a hospital after the shooting.

A police report says Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called just after 1:05 a.m. Friday to the 6200 block of East 11th Street. That’s in the T K Merrifield housing addition off East 10th Street between North Arlington Avenue and North Edmondson Avenue…
