WATCH: Florida man nearly hits deputies in escape, caught with guns, drugs at gas station

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man swerved toward deputies during a warrant attempt, then fled — only to be caught with guns, drugs, and cash at a nearby gas station.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said the incident happened on September 13, just before 10 p.m., while deputies were conducting a warrant operation in Dover. As they stood near the roadway, Marco Reyes-Diaz, 24, allegedly veered his vehicle toward them in what authorities described as a deliberate act. Deputies narrowly avoided serious injury.

The sheriff’s office said Reyes-Diaz fled the scene but was quickly tracked and boxed in at a gas station at 15634 East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where deputies took him into custody without further incident…
