Yesterday morning, a blaze in Boynton Beach claimed the life of a man, as local firefighters and police responded to a report of smoke in a neighborhood near Venice Drive. According to CBS12, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. and upon arrival, the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue (BBFR) and the Boynton Beach Police Department (BBPD) discovered a deceased man within the residence.
The state of the home’s interior indicated substantial damage, particularly in the kitchen where the fire seemingly originated. A neighbor, Keith Baker, expressed his surprise at the unfolding events, “Nothing at all. Heard nothing until I opened my window and saw the police outside in the yellow tape around the house, because originally, they thought it was a crime scene.” Baker told WPBF. The house itself requires considerable repairs, with scorched floors and melted appliances marking the tragedy.
