$5K Reward: Hunt for Robber Who Attacked 74-year-old Man

HOUSTON (KIAH)- Community safety is essential for the well-being and security of all residents, and it is our collective responsibility to look out for one another. CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for help in catching a man who police say committed aggravated robbery.

Robbery Detectives are searching for a man seen in surveillance video robbing a 74-year-old gentleman. Video released on “X” by Houston Police Robbery showed the elderly man walking through an empty conveince store parking lot on August 30th, just before 10am on MLK.

In the video, a black male is seen walking behind the elderly man wearing a dark-colored hoodie and jeans with a blue backpack. The young man then blocks the elderly gentleman, and the video shows him trying to avoid conflict by going around. Detectives said  the man  then reached into the elderly man’s pocket and forcibly took his cash.

In an instant, the suspect grabs the elderly man by his arm and yanks him from his walker. The images are then blurred, but the elderly man looks to have been tossed on the ground before the suspect walks away. Detectives have not said if the man sustained any major injuries during the attack.

If you know the suspect, the police ask you to contact Crimestoppers Houston to be eligible for the reward if it leads to an arrest. You can reach CrimeStoppers Houston by calling their tip line at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting their website at www.crime-stoppers.org…
