A moose fell onto the roadway in Boulder Canyon on Monday after it apparently had been walking along a cliff and stumbled, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
In the incident, the male moose broke both of its back legs, according to Kara Van Hoose, spokesperson for the state agency. Two broken legs gave the moose virtually no chance of survival, Van Hoose said, as wild animals rely on their mobility to get around and find food.
CPW officers responded to the moose and euthanized it. Van Hoose said it was the “humane” thing to do, and the animal needed to be “put out of its misery.”…
