‘You need to find me’: Teen charged after threatening 2 Polk County schools

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — A 16-year-old has been charged with five felonies after making threats to two high schools in Polk County, the sheriff’s office said.

At around 11:05 a.m. on Monday, Auburndale High School received a phone call in which the caller said that he was hearing voices in his head and was hiding in a school restroom with an AK-47.

“You need to find me before I go into a classroom and take hostages,” the caller said.

Just a few minutes later, Winter Haven High School also received a threatening call, in which the caller said he had a rifle and that he planned on “shooting up the school at some point today,” the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said…
