KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Construction at a new residence hall is one more step closer to being complete at Western Michigan University.
Staff, students and the community were invited to sign a structural panel used to cap off the new hall, called Golden Oaks.
Campus staff say the 270,000-square-foot building will house more than a thousand first-year students in the valley neighborhood.
“We believe that Golden Oaks is going to be one of those transformative experiences. Students are going to move into a brand-new space that not only has air conditioning, which is always exciting, but has a lot of natural light, has natural wood all around you.
