Governor Whitmer calls for bipartisan action as state budget deadline looms

LANSING, Mich. — Tuesday morning, Governor Gretchen Whitmer delivered a speech at Heritage Hall in Lansing, calling on legislators to put their differences aside and pass a state budget

“Failing to get this done means more uncertainty, higher costs, and less jobs,” Whitmer said.

If the Senate and House do not agree on a budget by Sept. 30, the government would shut down at midnight…
