NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) – The waitlist for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program has opened in Newark, officials announced Wednesday.
Applications can be submitted online through the Rent Café Portal. Qualifying applicants will be chosen through a lottery system, according to Newark officials.
Each household can apply only once. Applicants must meet federal income limits. A single applicant must make under $72,950 annually to qualify, and a family of four must make under $104,200.
Preference will be shown to households with veterans, seniors 62 years or older and people already living and working in the City of Newark…
