San Francisco’s lowrider parade to be televised for the first time

For the first time, San Francisco’s annual Lowrider Parade will be broadcast on live television, bringing a decades-old tradition in the Mission District to a national audience.

The parade, part of the city’s Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month celebrations, will air and stream on CBS on Saturday, Sept. 20. Organizers expect hundreds of lowriders from across the country, including women-led car clubs, to cruise down Mission Street.

More than 300 cars will be on display along Mission Street throughout the afternoon.
