SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) — Joshua Emmons, the father of 4-year-old Rykelan Brown, was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for killing his son. The case devastated the boy’s family and many in the Onondaga County community.
Emmons pleaded guilty in August to beating his son to death. On the afternoon of Sept. 16, Syracuse City Court Judge Mary Anne Doherty told Emmons he should have left his son with his foster parents.
