WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Carolina Beach Police Department (CBPD) has received a $12,810 grant from the Carolina Beach Police Foundation (CBPF).
According to CBPF, the funding has been given to cover the cost of purchasing, training, and providing needed equipment for a new K9, as well as food and lodging for the handler.
“The additional K9 will be paired up with an officer from the Police Department and provide greater capability for the department’s existing K9 unit by ensuring there is a patrol K9 available to each platoon and directly increase our agency’s ability to interdict narcotics and locate wanted criminals or missing adults/children,” said Chief of Police, Vic Ward…
