Austin Police Investigate 44th Homicide After Man Found Dead in Montopolis Mobile Home Park

The Austin Police Department is currently investigating a grim scene following an incident on Saturday night that became the city’s 44th homicide of the year. KXAN reports a man was found with critical injuries at the Frontier Valley Mobile Home Park, not far from U.S. Highway 183 and Montopolis Drive. Despite attempts by first responders to save the man, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. As of this report, no arrests have been made in connection with the killing.

The call that alerted authorities to the incident came in just before 10:30 p.m., driving officers to the 1400 block of Frontier Valley Drive. Upon their arrival, police discovered a Hispanic male with “obvious trauma to the body,” according to a statement obtained by FOX 7 Austin. Despite the presence of several individuals of interest, currently engaging with detectives, the larger public is believed not to be at risk relating to this particular incident.

Information surrounding the identity of the victim has not been released, though authorities noted the man was found on private property; his residency status remains unknown.
