Frisco ISD is broadening access to early childhood education with the launch of a tuition-based, full-day prekindergarten program.
Previously, the district’s full-day Pre-K was only available to students who qualified under state guidelines. Now, all families who live within the district can enroll their children, marking a major step toward making high-quality early learning more widely accessible.
A Strong Start For Students
The district’s Pre-K classrooms are designed to nurture curiosity, creativity and early academic skills in a safe, supportive environment. Certified teachers provide balanced instruction in reading, math and language, paired with play-based activities that encourage social and emotional growth.
Students also benefit from access to Frisco ISD’s resources, including enrichment through music, movement and structured play. The curriculum is aligned with Texas Pre-K guidelines, ensuring children are well-prepared for the transition to kindergarten.
“Frisco ISD’s program gives our youngest learners the best possible start, helping them walk into kindergarten confident and ready to shine,” said Melissa Ellis, assistant director of early childhood, in an official statement. “When kids have strong early learning experiences, it doesn’t just boost their academics, it builds independence and a love of school. Families also get to connect with Frisco ISD from the very beginning, which creates a lasting partnership. In the end, it’s about setting students up for success.”
