Charleston man charged with strong-arm robbery at North Charleston bank

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Charleston man has been charged in connection with the robbery of an elderly woman at a North Charleston bank, police said.

Detectives with the North Charleston Police Department said Sammie Greene, 63, was taken into custody Sept. 12 by the department’s Intelligence Led Policing Unit. He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The charges stem from an Aug. 28 incident at the South State Bank on Centre Pointe Drive. Investigators said Greene allegedly grabbed $180 and a document containing a 74-year-old woman’s bank account number from her hand…
