Pleasant Valley supper is a big success, with town hall meeting and next Clean Up set

A good crowd showed up at the Pleasant Valley / River Road Neighborhood Revitalization Group’s Spaghetti Supper fundraiser, held Saturday night, Sept. 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Pleasant Valley. Community members donated cash to pay for the spaghetti, bread rolls, salad and lots of desserts made by residents.

Among those attending the event were former city councilman Tom Scherlen and his wife, Nancy, as well as Clara Brown-Trimble and James Allen from the North Heights Advisory Association and Kim Benson.

The event featured raffle items and silent auction treasures donated by local businesses, along with a lot of conversation and fellowship. Hope McCoy, one of the main leaders of the drive to create Pleasant Valley / River Road as a recognized neighborhood nonprofit, said the results far exceeded her expectations…
