The Department of Public Safety’s inspector general appears to be looking into the agency’s handling of a high-speed crash involving a trooper who is the son of DPS director Freeman Martin.
A spokeswoman for the agency confirmed that the case had been sent to the inspector general, though she did not say when the investigation began or what exactly the agency’s watchdog was probing. There is no timeline for the investigation to be completed. Past inspector general reports have taken months to finish.
