Uptick in cattle sickness in Iowa: Tick disease continues to migrate, impact more herds

TIFFIN, Iowa — Since an Asian tick made its way to Iowa this year, there’s been several new cases of an illness found in cattle that can be deadly.

Theileriosis is caused by a parasite in Asian Longhorned Ticks impacting the blood cells in livestock.
