Mayor Frey announces increased police presence after 7 people shot at Minneapolis encampment

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced that additional law enforcement agencies will assist in “safety efforts” following a shooting that injured seven people on Monday night.

In a message posted on his X account, formerly Twitter, Frey stated that the city of Minneapolis had requested assistance from additional law enforcement agencies to maintain community safety.

In his message, the mayor specifically listed that the decision was made due to the shooting at a Lake Street homeless encampment on Monday night, which left seven people injured.
