ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A deal has been reportedly struck to keep TikTok operational in the United States, following more than a year of uncertainty over the app’s future.
A bipartisan bill passed last year banned TikTok unless it’s China-based owner ByteDance sold the platform to a U.S. entity. Lawmakers cited national security concerns, warning the company could be forced to share user data with the Chinese government and raising alarms over the influence of the app’s algorithm.
