Daycare worker fired but not charged after allegedly tying child to chair

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – A daycare worker was fired from her job after she allegedly tied a young child to a chair as punishment, but she was not charged with any crimes.

The incident came to light when a social services report revealed that a preschool teacher’s assistant had been fired in August after she allegedly tied a 21-month-old child to a chair with a blanket, according to local outlet WUSA. The outlet received a copy of the surveillance camera recording depicting the action from the VINCI School Alexandria North, where the event took place.

Although the individual was fired, the school said that Child Protective Services did not get involved and no charges were filed because there was no malice in the action and the child was not hurt. Despite this, many in the field of youth education spoke out against the employee’s actions…
