New Documentary to Explore Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Years

A new documentary, “Ozzy: No Escape From Now,” offers an intimate look into the final chapter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s life, just three months after his passing at age 76 due to a heart attack. Announced earlier this year and set to premiere on Paramount+, the film promises a deeply personal portrait of the iconic musician.

The documentary chronicles the challenges Osbourne faced in the last six years of his life, a period he described as containing some of his darkest moments. It highlights the importance of music in his life, which he credited with saving him during difficult times.

A key focus of the film is the impact of Osbourne’s 2019 Parkinson’s diagnosis, which significantly altered his life’s trajectory. Viewers will witness the events leading up to his poignant farewell performance, “Back to the Beginning,” at Villa Park on July 5th.

Directed by BAFTA Award winner Tania Alexander and produced by Echo Velvet, the film incorporates perspectives from Osbourne’s family and close friends. The trailer reveals Sharon Osbourne reflecting on her husband’s one regret: not having the opportunity to properly say goodbye to his fans. It then shows her suggesting a grand farewell show, to which Osbourne replies with his desire to perform as his classic, energetic self.

Beyond the documentary, Osbourne was honored with a special tribute at the 2025 VMAs. The performance featured a medley of his hits, including “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” performed by an all-star lineup including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Yungblud, and Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.
