(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 4-year-old boy was tragically shot and killed inside his home early Wednesday morning in Steele Creek, and now Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have swarmed an area just minutes down the road, where at least one person was taken away in handcuffs.
It all started just before 6 a.m. in the Brown Road community, at a townhome complex on Cigar Court, not far from Moss Road. According to CMPD, someone was trying to steal a black Dodge Charger when they were confronted. That’s when, police said, the suspect began firing shots.

Tragically, some of those bullets struck a nearby townhome. One round made its way into the second floor, killing a 4-year-old boy who was inside.
CMPD said they believe the gunfire into the home was intentional.

By Wednesday afternoon, police had swarmed another area about 2.5 miles away, around Rivergate Parkway, but had not confirmed whether this was directly related to the shooting…
