Calaveras County Sheriff Seeks Public Aid to Crack 2021 Cold Case Homicide of Tracy Resident Calvin Day

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is soliciting the public’s help to solve a cold case homicide involving the remains of Calvin Richard Day, discovered on March 29, 2021. Day, a resident of Tracy, California, had been last seen alive on October 3, 2020, in Stockton, California. The following day, his vehicle was located unoccupied within the Weston Ranch subdivision in Stockton. Despite the lapse in years, the details surrounding Day’s death remain sparse, the authorities admitting to a gap between Day and the rural location where his body was found.

Day’s remains were unearthed in a shallow grave near Mokelumne Hill in Calaveras County, with the cause of death determined as a homicide.
