Caddo Parish adds Purple Star Schools

SHREVEPORT, La. – Caddo Parish Schools have taken a significant step in supporting military-connected students by joining Bossier Parish in adding campuses to the Purple Star School program. Representatives from each newly designated school were recognized during the Caddo Parish School Board meeting held Monday evening.

The Purple Star designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to meeting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families. This includes efforts such as providing dedicated resources, staff training, and programs to ease transitions for students whose families are frequently relocated due to military service.

Three Caddo elementary schools, Eden Gardens Fundamental, Fairfield Magnet, and South Highlands, have earned the Purple Star designation.
