Pedestrian hit, killed in south Las Vegas valley crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A pedestrian is dead following a crash that left a south Las Vegas valley road closed in both directions Wednesday night, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

Around 7:50 p.m., Metro police responded to a report of a crash in the area of Valley View Boulevard and Somerset Hills Avenue near Cactus Avenue, according to Metro police.

Police told 8 News Now the pedestrian was crossing the street when they were struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Valley View Boulevard was closed in both directions between Cactus Avenue to Bella Palermo Way, according to police. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes…
