ALBANY — A 26-year-old postal worker pleaded guilty to money order fraud on Tuesday, admitting he issued $76,976 worth of money orders to himself without paying for them, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
The theft took place between January 2023 and September 2024, a period when Matthew Dundas of Petersburgh stole the money by issuing 105 money orders to himself.
The plea agreement in the case said Dundas began stealing the money just days after he began working in the Stephentown and Cherry Plain post offices on Jan. 1, 2023. The thefts ended weeks before his employment ended in early September 2024…
