Ronald McDonald House Charities breaks ground on new facility at Jackson Memorial Hospital

Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida broke ground on a new $33 million structure at the Jackson Memorial Hospital campus on Sept. 9, marking a milestone in the organization’s effort to provide lodging and support for families with critically ill children.

The seven-story building will expand the charity’s capacity from 31 to 54 bedrooms, nearly doubling accommodations and allowing the house to serve more than 420 families annually. Located just steps from Holtz Children’s Hospital, the new facility is designed to keep families close to their children during hospital stays.

Camcon Group, a South Florida-based construction firm, is leading the building of the facility, with project support from Paragon Development and Justin Architects. Site preparation began earlier this year, with completion expected within two years…
