OSHA fines tree-trimming company in wood-chipper death

OCEAN RIDGE, Fla. (CBS12) — A South Florida tree-trimming business has been fined as a result of a fatal wood-chipper accident last January in Ocean Ridge.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration website, OSHA has fined Carlton’s Tree Service, Inc. $16,550.

OSHA says, “At 9:30 a.m. on January 28, 2025, Employee #1 was working as a laborer for a tree service and was performing tree trimming at a client’s property. While working near the infeed chute, the employee got caught in the equipment and was fatally injured.”…
