Windsor Woods neighborhood recovering from flood

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — After a hard day’s night, vehicles that may never see another long and winding road remain in a neighborhood where residents, like retired Naval Officer Rick Dick, have seen this movie before.

“We had a tremendous amount of rainfall in a relatively short period of time,” Dick said. “And as we expected, with our intersection down here, off South Boulevard and where it intersects with Plaza Green, it [water] started to get higher and higher.”

The city’s new tide gate system was no match for the storm, as the pump station is not finished, and there are temporary pumps in place. 10 On Your Side was told Tuesday the pumps could not keep up with the amount of rain falling — more than five inches in this part of the city…
