LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas is cracking down on duplicate voter registrations and fraud with a new initiative.
The initiative, called one state, one vote, creates a partnership between Arkansas and surrounding states to compare voter rolls to check for duplicate registrations and give states the chance to investigate potential fraud.

Secretary of State Cole Jester said residents may be registered in multiple states intentionally or unintentionally, however, being registered intentionally in more than one state is illegal.
States like Alabama and Texas have agreed to participate in the program. They will investigate duplicates to see who has moved out of state and start the process of having them removed from Arkansas’ rolls.
