South Lyon Community School District Reopens After Three-Day Cyberattack

SOUTH LYON, MI, Sept. 18, 2025 ~ A cyber attack led to a three-day closure for South Lyon Community Schools, finally reopening school operations on Thursday.

The district became aware of the security incident on Sunday, Sept. 14, which resulted in the shutdown of their network, leaving schools without functioning phone systems and surveillance cameras, among other services. During a school board meeting this week, Superintendent Steven Archibald said that since calls could not be made to or from the school buildings, he said the decision was made to close the schools out of safety concerns…
