NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -A ribbon-cutting event took place at the Arts and Heritage Center in North Augusta to commemorate the latest exhibit, Palmetto Park and Pond.
The Palmetto Park and Pond served as a jazz venue on the chitlin circuit. It drew in some of the most prominent jazz musicians in the 1930s and 40s. What enhances the exhibit is that Augusta was a recognized stop on the Chitlin Circuit.
