‘To my fellow Americans, congratulations’: Youngkin celebrates 94 naturalized American citizens during ceremony at VMHC

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — More than 90 people became naturalized American citizens during a ceremony at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture (VMHC) in Richmond on Wednesday, coinciding with Constitution and Citizenship Day.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, 94 people from about 40 different countries attended a naturalization ceremony at the VMHC in Richmond, with a goal to become American citizens.

“It is fitting that on the day of celebrating our Constitution, we also welcome 94 of you into this greater brotherhood and sisterhood of America — America that was built on liberty and freedom,” said Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who delivered remarks at the ceremony. “And therefore, to my fellow Americans, congratulations.”

After completing a rigorous process that can take several years, nearly 100 people took the Oath of Allegiance at the VMHC, with Youngkin saying they are a part of making American and Virginian history…
