State police probe threats allegedly made by Penfield student

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — New York State Police say they are investigating after a Penfield Central School District student made concerning social media posts and internet searches that referenced potential threats of harm.

Troopers said the posts did not specify a particular location, but investigators are treating the matter seriously. At this time, police say there is no indication of an imminent threat to any school in the district.

State police are working with the Penfield Central School District and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to ensure the safety of students, staff and the community. Officials said additional law enforcement presence will be maintained at area schools out of an abundance of caution…
