Fantastic Fest is finally happening! The beloved genre festival is celebrating 20 years and we’ve been shouting out all the women who have made it something special. For our final installment, we get two for the price of one with Jen and Sylvia Soska aka the Soska Sisters.
Jen and Sylvia Soska are twin filmmakers who specialize in horror movies and they attended Fantastic Fest for the first time back in 2012 for their film, American Mary. That same year, the duo joined the Fantastic Debates and were dressed up as Mortal Kombat characters Kitana and Mileena before the two challenged each other in the ring.
One of the best parts about doing this series has been seeing how many women stepped up to partake in the Fantastic Debates. The boxing competition is a fun way to engage with the festival but it is also still a boxing match. And to see the amount of women who trained and wanted to be a part of it is so amazing. And getting to do that with your sister has to be so much fun!…
